Ryan Braun hit a three-run home run as the Brewers handed the Pirates their eighth straight loss in a 3-1 decision Friday night. Dave Bush (9-9) allowed one run in 62/3 innings for Milwaukee, which extended its NL wild-card lead to 41/2 games over St. Louis.

Braun says Yost never lost the team
Ryan Braun just gave an interview in the lobby of the team hotel here and said he was surprised when he found out from Tony Gwynn Jr. about manager Ned Yost being fired. He also said the players were to blame for the recent slide, but that Yost was the fall guy and that he never lost the team. It was ultimately on them for playing so poorly.
